  22 days late on the review buttt I can remember a great experience like this one (& bc it got my dads approval too! Lol)
  After being in Bar Harbor for the day, my family and friends wanted to get seafood; so, being the avid Yelper of the group, I searched up seafood and this place was one of the top hits of the list. It was about 20 mins. away from Bar Harbor but it was worth the trip!
  Getting there, I almost missed the turn to this off-roadish family run place. We parked on the gravel and walked to the restaurant. The line was starting to get long and it was even longer after ordering around 5pm.
  I ordered to share the bowl of clam chowder (was smaller than expected), dinner #1 (1 1/4 lb. lobster, 2 corn, & chose mussels over coleslaw -- who actually wants 1 lb. of coleslaw?! No judgment passed though lol), a lobster grilled cheese, and 2 canned beers. We had a order number and sat in a picnic table to fit us all.
  The food was so fresh and delicious! We were all very satisfied with our dinner and writing this review makes me hungry for some seafood. Definitely a recommendation for seafood and for family business!

  Was looking for my first lobster roll and this seemed like the place to go based off Yelp reviews. I was a little weary after seeing the prices range from 22-25 bucks but I guess I'm just not an experienced New Englander.
  
  I got the hot roll, which was just lobster and butter on a 6 inch long roll. It was really tasty, with the bun being a lil toasty and the lobster maintaining the perfect ratio of chew/melt-in-your-mouth.
  
  My buddy got us three slices of blueberry pie to finish off the meal and honestly it became the highlight of the meal. We destroyed them, absolutely delicious. Buttery, crumbly but melt-in-your-mouth crust and strong blueberry flavor without over-sweetness. My god. I will be dreaming about that pie for years to come.
  
  All in all, way better than the McDonald's in Times Square.

  We had a very pleasant time at the Traveling Lobster. Met a nice couple from Texas and enjoyed a delicious meal together. The lobster rolls were very good--I can't say they were the best I have had but I do not regret coming here.  The couple from TX said the lobster was the best they had on their trip.
  
  We also met the couple who owns the place and they were very friendly. We stood in line for a little while in the hot sun but were able to find a table in the shade...with the nice couple from TX. It was our first lobster roll in Maine and it did not disappoint.

  OMG! The BEST lobster I've had in my week here in Bar Harbor, by far.  Great price and quality, it's a local, family owned business.  Just for reference we went out for my son's birthday to the Lobster Company downtown, the dinner for a 1 1/4 lobster, some clams and corn was $39, you can get that for the same price a two lobster dinner here.  Sure, it's a little off the beaten path but it's well worth the drive.  
  
  We had a party of seven and decided to drive 20 minutes from where we're staying downtown and got there roughly a little bit after 5pm.  It wasn't crowded but most of the prime seating in the shade was taken, fortunately, another group left so we were able to grab one of the roundtops.  My wife ordered a bisque, lobster roll, and corn to share with our son, while I was trying to find the largest lobster I could order, YOLO right?  As I inquired she said that it might be a little over two pounds so I was considering opting for the 2 lobster dinner but she said she'll check and brought out a BEHEMOTH of a 2.7 pound with gigantic claws.  Yes, come to papa.  The rest of the family ordered and shared the dinners.  
  
  The meal itself was phenomenal, great evening breeze with a beer to wash everything down.  We ordered dessert, my mom had the pie which she said was the best she's had.  The blueberry ice cream was also great compared to some of the ice cream shops we've ordered in town.  As we were eating the line was getting long and many of the other seats were being taken, so having an early dinner will definitely pay off.  I know there are other great lobster places not in located downtown but this is one of those places you have to try.

  I stopped by here earlier today with my wife for dinner.  We arrived to the Traveling Lobster at around 6:30 to find ourselves about 20th in line.  Since they close at 7:30, that was pretty crazy.  Actually the longer that we waited, the longer the line seemed to get.  It ended up taking 45 minutes for us to get through the line and right before we ordered they ran out of meat for lobster rolls which wasn't a problem for us.  The Taveling Lobster is the type of place where you walk up to a counter and place your order. You get a number and, whenever it's ready, they bring it out to you. You can sit at a number of different picnic tables or spools used as tables.  There was also local craft beer for sale which you purchase to consume with your lobster.
  
  For dinner on this day my wife and I both decided to go with the single dinner which consisted of a 1 1/4 lb lobster with butter, corn and either cole slaw of a 1/2 lb mussels.  We forgot to mention we wanted the mussels instead of cole slaw and I also forgot to use my Yelp 5% off coupon.  We sat at a bench overlooking where they cooked their food and saw that they had four steamers going for the lobsters.  After the 45 minute wait, our lobsters and food came to the table within an impressive amount of time.  Everything was cooked perfectly too as both the lobster and corn had a nice doneness to it and were both sweet in their own ways.  They even gave you a nice lobster picker here which I haven't seen elsewhere which made picking the lobster clean pretty easy. Finally I also enjoyed the mussels here as they were also cooked nicely and tasted good.
  
  The bottom line for me is that I would be back here again in the future.  While I certainly wasn't happy about the wait time, their food more than made up for it and they can sure cook a lobster!
